DIVISIBILTY OF 1

Every number is divisible by 1

1
Divisibility of 2

◦Numbers that have the last digit as 2,4,6,8 and

0 are divisible by two.
2
Divisibility of 3

If you add all the digits and if it is divisible by 3

it is divisible by 3.
Eg. 5034 sum of digits=12 It is divisible
Eg. 66613 sum of digits=31 It is not divisible.
Divisibility of 4

◦If the last 2 digits are divisible by four, the

number is divisible by 4.
Divisibility of 5

◦If the last digit is 5 or 0 the number is divisible

by 5.
Divisibility of 6

The number should be divisible by 2 or 3.

Divisibility of 7

◦ Remove the last digit, double it, subtract it from the

truncated original number and continue doing this until
only one digit remains. If this is 0 or 7, then the original
number is divisible by 7. For example, to test divisibility
of 12264 by 7, we simply perform the following
manipulations: 1226 - 8 = 1218 121 - 16 = 105 10 - 10 = 0
Thus, 12264 is divisible by 7.
Divisibility of 8

◦The last 2 digits must be divisible by 2 and 4.

Divisibility of 9

◦The sum of digits should be divisible by 9.

Divisibility of ten
