The followings are expressions to show attitudes in various situations.

When you like something, you can express your like by using the
following expressions:

• The above text is an example of narrative text. Narrative is a


text which deals with the problematic events that leads to a
crisis or turning point of some problematic events which in
turn finds a resolution.
• Social function of a narrative is to amuse the reader’s or
listeners’ interest.
• Narrative texts include tales, legend, romance, horror stories,
crime, real-life fiction, historical fiction, mystery, ballads,
fables, fantasy, science fiction, diary-novels, and adventure
stories.
Generic structures of narrative are:

•Orientation.
It is the opening of the story. It introduces the setting of place, setting of
time, and the main character/s who play/s in the story.
•Complication.
It sets off a chain of events that influences what will happen in the story. It
tells the problematic events of the story.
• Resolution.
It constitutes ending of the story. It is ending of the story in which the
characters finally solve the complication and the problematic event end.
• Sometimes, a narrative text has a coda that provides a comment or
moral values based on what has been learned from the story.
• Language features of narrative are:
 It uses Past Tense.
 It uses time words that connect events to tell when they occur.
 It uses action verbs to show the actions that the characters do in the
story.
 It uses descriptive words to portray the characters and settings.
 Sometimes, it uses dialogues.
