Antenna Design Technique

 Numerical methods
 Self-developed numerical codes
 Pseudo-random search algorithms
 Generic algorithms
 Particle-swarm optimization
 Artificial neural network etc.

5
Eigenvalue (λn)

λn = 0 at 40.87 GHz

The Eigenvalue of mode 3 is 0 near 40.87 GHz.

Antenna radiates strongly when mode 3is excited.
While for mode 1 and 2 antenna store magnetic
and electrical energy respectively. 6
Modal significance (MSn)
MSn= 1
at 40.87 GHz

The MSn of mode 3 is 1 near 40.87 GHz.

That is only mode 3 effectively contributes to the
total radiation of the designed antenna.
7
Characteristic angle (αn)

αn = 180°
at 40.87 GHz

The Characteristic Angle curve of mode 3 cross 180⁰ near

$0.87 GHz.
Antenna radiates strongly when mode 3 is excited
While for mode 2 antenna stores magnetic Energy and for
mode 1 it store electrical energy 8
