What is a Note?
Notes are the building blocks
of written music. Notes can
represent the pitch and
duration of a sound
in musical notation.
Parts of the Notes
1.Flag
2.Stem
3.Head

Kinds of Notes

Whole Note
- It has a value of four (4) beats.
Half Note
- The stem halves the value of the
whole note and so a it has a value of
two (2) beats.
Quarter Note
- This halves the value of the half note
again and so a quarter note has a value
of one (1) beat.
Eighth Note
- The flag halves the value of the note
again and so it has a value of half
(1/2) a beat.
Sixteenth Note
- It’s half the value of eighth note and
so is worth one-quarter (1/4) of a
beat.
