IN ORDER TO; FOR
FOR THE PURPOSE OF; IN ORDER TO
1. Verb Dict. Form   ために 〜
Noun  の     for the sake of.
This pattern is used when one wants to express his/her objective directly.
Ex.
わたしはおかねをためるためにいっしょうけんめいはたらいています。
In order to save money, I am working hard.
わたしはあたらしいぎじゅつをみにつけるためににほんへいきたいです。
In order to acquire new technology, I want to go to japan.
Ex.
In order to study Japanese, I bought a dictionary.
にほんごのべんきょうするために、じしょをかいました .
In order to attend my friends wedding, I take a leave.
ともだちのけっこんしきをでるために、やすみをとります .
For the safety, please fasten seatbelt.
あんぜんのために、シートベルトをしぇください .
For the family I built a big house.
かぞくのために、おおきいうちをたてました .
2. Verb Dict. Form の    に 〜
Noun   の      for the purpose of
〜のに in this section expresses the purpose of something / doing something.
In this pattern what comes after のに , are words like necessary, use, convenient, useful,
take time or money. This のに is similar meaning of ために。
Ex.
かんじをおぼえるのにいいほうほうをおしえてください。
Please tell me a good way to to memorize kanji.
このりょうりをつくるのにあぶらがいります。
We have to use oil to cook this dish.
Ex.
We use pencils to write letters.
えんぴつはじをかくのにつかいます .
I think we probably need a bigger truck to transport the goods.
しなものをはこぶのにおおきいトラックがいるとおもいます .
3.Quantifier 〜は atleast amount
Quantifier 〜も takes as much as

When は is attached to a quantifier, it indicates that the speaker thinks that this is
the least amount required or necessary for something.

When particle も is attached to a quantifier, it indicates that the speaker thinks


that the amount mentioned is large.
Ex.
わたしはボナすのはんぶんはちょきんするつもりです。
I intend to save atleast half of my bonus.
えっ、はんぶんもちょきんするんですか。
Really? Your going to save as much as half?
カメラは50まんもかいましたか。
Did you bought a camera as much as 500,000 ?

フィリピン で、うちをたてるのを500 , 000ペソはかかります。


In Philippines, to build a house it takes atleast 500,000 pesos.
