DEFINITION:-

 Development of cancer cells in breast.


INCIDENCE:-

 The incidence of breast cancer is known to be raised who started menses at


an early age.
RISK FACTORS/CAUSES:-

Female about 45yrs. OR more which have positive family history


Late menopause
Early menopause
 Obesity
Increasing age
Alcohol intake
High fat diet
Use of contraceptive pills
Late marriage
 Lack of breast feeding to baby.
Heredity
Hormonal
Chemical
 Radiation
SIGN/SYMPTOMS:-

Mass- Painless, 50% mass are located in upper quadrant.


Nipple discharge (May be blood or serum)
Breast asymmetry
 Orange peel skin
Dimpling of skin
Nipple retraction
 Late signs- Pain, ulceration, edema.
DIAGNOSTIC EVALUATION:-

Physical examination
Mammography
 Biopsy or aspiration
