Movable ceiling panels are over each service or entry door. The
panels are nomex honeycomb core panels with washable, scratch-
resistant, tedlar fabric on inside surfaces. The panels fold up
into the area above the lowered ceiling when the door opens .As
the door opens, the pushrod rotates the panel and upper liner and
and moves them on rollers up tracks into the ceiling. The ceiling
panels and upper liner are hidden when the door is fully open.
General
A. Electrical power is provided by service outlets. Service outlets provide
power for electrical appliances used by service personnel during airplane
servicing. Examples of such equipment are vacuums, carpet steamers and
maintenance equipment during ground operations. These outlets are
provided for ground use only. These outlets are not meant to be used for
any Personal Electronic Devices (PED). Using a Personal Electronic
Device (PED) can cause damage to the airplane's electrical equipment or
can cause an oveheat condition or failure in the airplane. Personal
Equipment Devices should only be used in In-Seat Power Supply Systems for
.PEDs or in other designated areas
Service Outlets
A. Electrical power is provided in the passenger compartment by service
outlets. The right bus supplies 115 volt ac power to outlets at the
forward left door and the aft left door. In the flight compartment, the
.volt ac service outlet is on the main power distribution panel P6 115
In the lower lobe, the 115 volt ac service outlet is on the E3 rack in
the right forward equipment center. A 28 volt dc outlet is on the main
.power distribution panel P6
1.General
A. Forward galley is located in the supernumerary area near the forward service door.
Aft galleys are near the aft entry/service door.
2.Galleys
A. Galleys are for storing and preparing food and beverages. Waste is stored in waste bins.
Removable inserts permit rapid replenishment of supplies, and disposal of waste.
B. Galleys mount on floor fittings, and attach to airplane structure with overhead tie rods.
Floor fittings are on the outside of the galley walls; overhead tie rods are accessible
through ceiling panels.
C. Galleys are made of nomex honeycomb core panels with a decorative tedlar fabric
covering. The tedlar fabric covering is washable and scratch-resistant. Kick strips,
rubstrips, and vertical bumper strips protect galley sidewalls from damage.
D. Galleys contain ovens, coffeemakers, carts, and carrier boxes to aid in food and
beverage preparation.
E. Modular construction eases removal/installation of galleys. The galley and gutter drain
network reduces corrosion and makes cleaning and servicing easier.
1.General
A. There are two air chillers in the airplane. The air chillers supply the cold air to the aft
galleys.
2.Galley Chillers
A. The aft galley air chiller is below the floor of the main deck compartment.
B. The aft galley air chillers are in the area aft of the bulk cargo compartment.
C. There are two air ducts between the air chiller and the galley. The supply duct moves the
cold air from the air chiller to the galley. The return duct moves the air from the galley to
the air chiller.
3.Operation
A. For information on the galley chiller wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Diagram Manual
(WDM 25-33-01).
B. Functional Description
(1) The galley chillers are electrically powered with 115 VAC. Control power is 28
VDC. The AC and DC power for the aft chillers is supplied through circuit breakers
on the aft galley.
(2)When the CHILLER ON-OFF switch is placed to ON,28 VDC power is supplied to
the chiller through the CHILLER CONT RELAY. If galley power is interrupted, the
chillers will restart automatically within 2.5 minutes after power is restored.
Aft Lavatories
The aft lavatories have bi-panel, folding doors. Folding doors prevent blockage of aft
entry/service doors. Spring loaded, retractable hinges facilitate door removal for
entrapped occupant. Folding doors are spring-loaded closed. The lock mechanism locks
the door closed and shows OCCUPIED sign when door is locked.
General
A. This airplane is a multi-role tanker transportation military airplane.
E. The equipment and furnishings include, removable lowered ceiling panels, PSU, a
three-seat supernumerary unit, safety equipment, and floor coverings.
General
A. The three supernumerary seats are located forward of the smoke barrier partition.
These seats are not adjustable. Lap belts and shoulder harness (no inertia reel) are for
restraint.
B. A control handle for seat stowage (folding seat bottom up against bulkhead) is on
outboard side of seat, and is labeled RELEASE.
C. A removable ashtray and glass stands are located near arm rest between seats.
1.General
A. The main deck cargo compartment is equipped with several cargo lining panels installed
along the sidewalls, ceilings and aft pressure bulkhead to protect the structure, insulation
blankets, and any equipment installed behind the panels .
B. The main deck is also equipped with dado panels installed below the sidewall panels.
C. Insulation blankets are installed between and over structural members to provide
thermal protection and noise attenuation for the cargo compartment interior. They also
stop inner skin surface condensation moisture from leaking into the compartment.
D. The insulation blankets overlap each other to control moisture drainage. Moisture drains
to the lower section of the fuselage in the lower cargo compartment.
1.General
A. The emergency equipment includes:
(1)Escape ropes in the flight compartment.
(2)Escape harnesses near the entry door.
(3)Detachable emergency equipment is in the flight compartment and supernumerary
area.
(4)Life raft.
(5)Full Face smoke mask in the Supernumerary area.
(6)Portable oxygen bottles.
(7)Spare life vest in the Supernumerary area.
2.Escape Ropes
A. Refer to the description and operation of the escape ropes (25-61-00).
4.Life Raft
A. Two life rafts and containers are located in the supernumerary compartment. The
containers are designed for quick removal and installation. Each raft contains a signal
flare (25-62-00).

OVERWATER SURVIVAL EQUIPMENT
1.General
A. Crew safety equipment provided for sea evacuation includes
(1)life rafts
(2)life vests
2.Life Raft
A. Two life rafts and containers are located in the supernumerary compartment. The
containers are designed for quick removal and installation. Each raft contains a signal
flare .
3.Life Vests
A. There are life vests for all crew members. There is a life vest under each flight
compartment seat, each supernumerary seat, and one spare in the closet near the crew
entry door. Life vests are individually sealed in plastic bags.
General
A. Along the main deck cargo compartment, there are warning horns and flashing
lights. The warning horns system consists of 2 horns, located at STA 825 and STA 1275.
B. A Main Deck Cargo Warning System is installed in the main deck cargo
compartment. The system flashes the cargo area lights for several seconds to alert
occupants of the main cargo compartment to return to the flight deck.
C. The system is activated by the MN DK ALERT selector on the pilot’s overhead
panel.
D. When the selector is in AUTO position the system activates 20 seconds cycle of
flashing main deck lights, lavatory dome lights, entry lights and aural horn when cabin
altitude exceeds 10,000 feet.
E. The flashing lights system consists of every second light along the compartment.
