THE FATE
OF
WESTPHALIA
SOVEREIGNTY
IN
THE GLOBAL This essay focuses on what

ERA should be purified in the virtual

meaning of ‘fate’ in sovereignty,
particularly on the concept of
Westphalia sovereignty

‘9/11’ The Contradiction on
Modern State System of
Westphalia
“There is a point of view assuming
that requirements of compatible and
ideal life would be fulfilled if the
limitations of sovereignty and the short
and long term of life are both regulated
on their constitution.”

Rob Walker -
Ashley’s Relevant Question

“How amidst all the ambiguities and contingencies of a

diverse global history, are actions co-ordinated,
energies concerted, resistances tamed, and boundaries
of conduct imposed such that it becomes possible and
sensible simply to represent a multiplicity of domestic
societies, each understood as a coherent identity
subordinate to the gaze of a single interpretive centre,
a sovereign state?”

Highlight

“as strong as any and as heroic as any the origin of State can not be a
benchmark that would become the absolute highest sovereign state”.
On how the way to become an absolute sovereign state there must be
stabilization and coherence that must be safeguarded on grounds that
support sovereignty itself.

Barak Mandeson, God vs. Westphalia: The Longer World War, page. 17.
PARADOX OF SOVEREIGNTY

“[A]gainst shadowy terrorist networks with no nation or citizens to defend.. when

unbalanced dictators with weapons of mass destruction can deliver those
weapons on missiles or secretly provide them to terrorist allies. ... If we wait for
threats to fully materialize, we will have waited too long.”
SELF-IMPLICATION

- Here, it began to appear that the greatest impact of the collapse of

the sovereignty and uncertainty of a region and the deviation of the
sovereignty of a State could be seen from the anxiety of a State in
facing their own problems -
Summary
It is important to emphasize that global
sovereignty does not mark the paradigm shift of
sovereignty own. In the end, I conclude that the
paradigm in its own sovereignty since the 1640
agreement of Westphalia was formed unchanged
today, which should actually be revised in this era
of globalization there must be signs of
amendment of the existing agreement in
Westphalia which becomes the basic benchmark
of the sovereignty of each country in this world .
Moreover, there is still the possibility of this
concept will be abandoned and not used in the
future because it is not considered relevant to the
period.
