Congratulating (Congratulation) is to
congratulate others for their
achievements and happiness.

Complimenting is an expression to
appreciate or praise others. Praise
or appreciation is very important to
encourage others so that they will
remain consistent in maintaining
their achievements and improving
their abilities.
 When do we use those?
Congratulating
• Win competition in school, outside of school,
• graduation,
• getting baby / baby,
• marriage, and others.
Complimenting
 When someone has done his/her best
 When you visit someone’s house for the first time
 If you notice something new and feel impressed about
someone’s appearance.
