HAND MASSAGE
a HAND MASSAGE can be a quick and rewarding way
to relieve stress and tension in someone’s hands, and to
leave that person feeling relaxed and freshed.

T Hold the client’s hand in your hand.
Place a dab of lotion on the back of the
client’s hand ang spread to the fingers
s and wrist.

N Hold the client’s hand firmly. Bend the
hand slowly with a forward and
D backward movement limber the wrist.
Repeat three times.

I Grasp eash finger. Gently bend each


finger, one at a time, to limber the top of
R the hand and finger joints.
D As the fingers and thumb are bent, slide
your thumb down toward the fingertips.

With the client’s elbow resting on the
T table, hold the hand upright.
H Massage the palm of the hands with the
cushions of your thumbs, using a
circular movement in alternate
directions.
S This movement will completely relax the
T client’s hand.

Rest client’s arm on the table.
T Grasp each finger at the base, and rotate
it gently in large circles, ending with a
gentle squeeze of the fingerstips.
H Repeat three times.

X Hold the client’s hand
Massage the wrist, then top of the hand
T with a circular movement.
Slide back and with both hands wring
H wrist in opposite direction three times.

V Finish massage by tapering each finger.
E Beginning at the base of each finger,
N rotate, pause, and squeeze with gentle
T pressure.
H Then pull lightly with pressure until tip
is reached.

Repeat three times.

elbow, using fingers of each hand in
D alternate crosswise directions.
Repeat three times.

Massage elbow with circular motion.
