MASSAGE
 The action of rubbing or pressing someone’s body in a
way that helps muscle to relax or reduces pain in muscle
and joints.
 Massage is work and act on the body with pressure
massage techniques are commonly applied with hands,
fingers, elbow, knees, forearms, feet, or a device.
 The purpose of massage is generally for the treatment of
body stressor pain. People who are professionally trained
to give massage were traditionally known as masseurs or
masseurses, but the term massage therapist has been
promoted.

SWEDISH MASSAGE THERAPHY

 Is accomplished by rubbing the muscles with long gliding


strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart.
Swedish Massage therapy goes beyond relaxation. It is
exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in
the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation
and flexibility while easing tension.

AROMATHERAPHY MASSAGE
 Is a Swedish massage therapy using massage oil or
lotion that contains essential oils(highly
concentrated plant oils).
 During an aromatherapy massage, you inhale these
essential oil molecules or absorb them through your
skin. They are thought to promote beneficial
changes in your mind and body by affecting the
limbic system, a region of the brain known to
influence the nervous system.

HOT STONE MASSAGE

Isa specialty massage where the therapist uses


smooth, heated stones as an extension of their
own hands, or by placing them on the body. The
heat can be both deeply relaxing and help
warm up tight muscles so the therapist can work
more deeply, more quickly.

 is aimed at the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and
fascia, also called connective tissue.
 Uses many of the same movements and techniques as
Swedish Massage, but the pressure will be generally more
intense. It is also more focused type of massage, as the
therapist works to release chronic muscle tension or “knots”
(also known as adhesions”).

 Relies on the use of fingers, thumbs and palm to apply
pressure to various areas of the body’s surface to help
heal common ailments nd conditions, and correct
imbalances in the body.
 Shiatsu regulates the automatic nervous system
activity and stimulates the circulatory, lymphatic, and
hormonal systems. Poor posture, joint problems,
sprains, arthritis, acute and chronic neck and back
pain and bronchitis are treatable with Shiatsu.

THAI MASSAGE
 Is an ancient healing system combining acupressure, Indian
Ayurvedic principles and assisted yoga postures.
 In the Thai language, it is usually called nuat phaen thai.
 The recipient wers loose, comfortable clothing and lies on a
mat or firm mattress on the floor. The receiver will be
positioned in a variety of yoga-like positions during the
course of the massage, that is also combined with deep static
and rhythmic pressures.

Also known as Zone Therapy, is an alternative
medicine involving application of pressure to the
feet and hands with specific thumb, finger, and
hand techniques without the use of oil or lotion.
A gentle manipulation or pressing on certain
