The term environment comes from the French
word “environ” and means everything that
surrounds us.

According to R.K. Pachort, “Environment may be

defined as the sum total of all conditions and
influences that affect the development and life of
organisms.

The air, water, and land in or on
which people, animals, and plants live

The conditions that you live or work in and the
