Long Drops

Line up 5 yards apart on the sideline, facing away from the field
Take first step to 6 o’clock (Long) then crossover with the next step
Keep front shoulder pointing down the field
Continue this pattern to the other sideline
Sprint back, keeping front shoulder pointing down field
Always keeping the ball in throw position
Flip Hips Drops

Similar to Long Drops but instead we will flip our hips


Take first step to 6 o’clock (Long) then crossover with the next step
Next flip your hips so you are facing the opposite side
Keep front shoulder pointing down the field
Continue this pattern to the other sideline
Sprint back, keeping front shoulder pointing down field
Always keeping the ball in throw position

Same as the Shuffle drill but this time we will ask the QB to throw
when the coach show his hands.
The QB deliver the ball as quick as possible with his feet under him.
Direction Drill

Each QB will have a ball and be on the line at the same time.
The drill will start with each QB doing a 5 step drop.
The coach will then give a direct for the QB to move in the pocket,
left, right, forward, or backward.
The QB will keep the ball in throwing position at all time.
The drill ends when the coach drops his hands, the QB will tuck the
ball and run up field on an angle.

Go thru all the drop we use: no step, three step, five step, play
action, and sprint-out.
Throwing to both directions
Standing Option Pitches

Each QB will stand 6 yards apart, facing opposite sidelines, one will
have a ball.
The ball will be held tight to the QB chest with both hands.
The QB will step and pitch to his partner, the partner will do the same.
Each QB will do 25 each with one and then they will face the opposite
sideline and get in another 25 with the other hand.
Running Option Pitches

Each QB will stand 5 yards apart, one will have a ball.


The ball will be held tight to the QB chest with both hands.
Each QB will run straight down the line alternating the pitch.
The QB receiving the ball should stay a yard behind the other QB.
Then return back down the yardline doing the same.

Each QB will kneel down on the their throwing side knee 3 yards
apart.
Start with the ball in throwing hand and arm extended straight up in
the air.
QB wants to flick the ball to the other QB with the wrist and hand.
Concentrate on the index finger leaving the ball last.
Each QB will throw 5 passes each.
One Knee Throws

Each QB will kneel down on the their throwing side knee 5 yards
apart.
Start with the ball in throwing position, turn the front shoulder to the
target.
Aim point should be the neck.
Concentrate on a high release and a good finish.
Each QB will throw 5 passes each.
One Foot Forward Throws

Each QB will stand 10 yards apart with their shoulders perpendicular


to the sideline, their chest facing the other QB.
Start with one foot in front of the other.
Start with the ball in throwing position, turn the front shoulder and
front hip to the target.
Aim point should be the neck.
Concentrate on a high release, hip and shoulder rotation, and a good
finish.
Each QB will throw 5 passes each and switch feet.
Facing Sideline Throws

Each QB will stand 10 yards apart with their shoulders and feet parallel
to the sideline.
Start with the ball in throwing position, turn the front shoulder and front
hip to the target.
Keep feet parallel do not move when throwing, when facing the opposite
direction push the ball back to get full motion.
Concentrate on a high release, hip and shoulder rotation, and a good
finish.
Each QB will throw 5 passes each and switch feet.
Step and Throw

Each QB will stand 15 yards apart with their shoulders and feet parallel
to the sideline.
Start with the ball in throwing position, step and throw to other QB.
Concentrate on taking a small step with front foot and a good follow thru.
Each QB will throw 5 passes each and switch feet.
Throwing Progression

No drop, 3 step drop, 5 step drop, play action, and full rollout
After throwing to the left each QB will walk forward 5 yards
And go thru the same sequence throwing to the right
High Release

Start with a QB on each side of the goalpost (soccer net, high fence )
5 yards away from the goalpost.
QB will step and throw, trying to get as close as possible to the crossbar
and trying hit the other QB in the chest.
The ball should not loop over the crossbar.
Try to move as close as possible to the goalpost and still getting it over
on a line.
Can also incorporate a five step drop in to it.
Deep Throws

Start with a QB under the goalpost (soccer net, high fence )1 yards
away from the goalpost with a ball.
Put another QB 25-30 yards down field.
QB will step and throw, trying to get the ball over the crossbar and trying
hit the other QB in the chest.
This force the QB to lift his front should and get air under the ball.
Thrash Can Throws

Start with a QB under receive a snap from another QB.


Place a trash can at various spots down field.
QB will take a 3 or 5 step drop and try to put the ball in the trash can.
Can run on both sides for maximum reps.
Down the Line Throws

Each QB will stand 10 yards apart, one will have a ball.


The QB’s will start jogging down the line keeping the ball in throwing
position.
The QB will throw the ball to his partner, by getting his shoulders and
hips pointed at the other QB.
Then return back down the yardline doing the same.
Circle Throws

Each QB will stand 10 yards apart, one will have a ball.


The QB’s will start jogging in a circle keeping the ball in throwing
position.
The QB will throw the ball to his partner, by getting his shoulders and
hips pointed at the other QB.
Then return back down the yardline doing the same.
Route Throwing
