Pre-Historic Age

BY: GROUP 1
Objectives

1. To identify events and devices of the past

that contributed to the technological
revolution.
2. Describe what is known through
archaeological studies of the early physical and
cultural development of humankind from the
Palaeolithic era to the agricultural revolution.
The Educational Technology of
Prehistoric Ages
The history of technology is the history of the invention
of tools and techniques, and is similar in many ways to
the history of humanity. Background knowledge has
enabled people to create new things, and conversely,
many scientific endeavours have become possible
through technologies which assist human to travel to
places we could not otherwise go. And probe the nature
of the universe in more detail than our natural senses
allow.
The Three Age System

Stone Age
Bronze Age
Iron Age
The three age system is the periodization of
history into time periods divisible by three.
The stone age period was between 800,000 BC
2,500 BC. They wore animal skins. They lived
in caves. They looked like apes. They looked
like apes because they had just evolved from
them. They ate animals & berries.
Ignition of fire by rubbing two
stones.
Canoe-ship technology.
Tools

Weapons were made of flint. They had bow and

arrows, hand axes & spears. Weapons were
sharp. They used weapons to kill animals. They
used tools to get their food. They used hand
axes too scape the meat out of the animal.
Foods

They ate mammoths, fish, bison, deer, plants

and berries. The stone age people drank dirty,
horrible water. They hunted to get food also
gathered berries. They cooked their food on a
fire.
Clothes

The stone age people wore animal skins (but no

shoes) They also wore jewelry made of animal
bones and animal teeth.
Home

The stone age people lived in caves and later in

the stone age they built huts. Their huts were
made of natural materials. Inside the caves
everything was made of stone! They used sticks
to make fire to keep warm.
Stone Age Proto Writing
The Bronze age was about 2300-800BC Bronze age
period after the stone age. It was a time when metal
was discovered and when proper clothes were made.
They used copper at first then the beaker people
came to show how to make Bronze. That’s why it’s
called the Bronze age. They mined the tin and copper
to make bronze.
The Bronze Age is a historical period characterized
by the use of bronze, and in some areas proto-
writing, and other early features of urban
civilization.
Home

Bronze age homes were round and had a cone-

shaped roof. Their home was made natural
materials, also a little fire in the center to keep
warmth.
Clothes

Bronze age clothes were made by making a cotton

cloth and weaving through the gaps. These clothes are
better that the stone age but not the same as ours.

The Iron age

Was a period in human history that started

between 1200BC-600BC depending on the
region, and followed the Stone age and Bronze
age.
During the Iron age people across much of
Europe, Asia and part of Africa began making
tools and weapons from Iron and steel. For
some societies, including ancient history,
including ancient Greece, they start of the iron
age.
Humans may have smelted iron sporadically
throughout the Bronze age, though they likely
saw iron as an inferior metal. Iron tools wand
weapons weren’t as hard or durable as their
bronze counterparts.
