TRAVEL AGENCIES AND THEIR

CLASSIFICATION

TRAVEL AND TOURISM AGENCIES:

They are commercial companies, duly constituted by natural or legal persons
who are professionally dedicated to selling tourist plans. They are characterized by:
a) Organizing, promoting and selling national tourist plans, to be operated by
b) the Operator Travel Agencies legally established in the country.
 TRAVEL OPERATING AGENCIES:

They are commercial companies, duly constituted by natural or legal persons who are
professionally dedicated to operating tourist plans. They are characterized by:
a) Operating tourism plans within the country, programmed by Travel Agencies from abroad and
b) from the country. b) Organize and promote tourist plans to be operated by themselves, their
c) branches and agencies, if any, according to the location of each one of them within the
d) national territory.
c) Provide tourist transport services in accordance with the provisions that regulate the matter.
d) Provide specialized equipment such as hunting and fishing implements, diving and other sports
equipment, when the activity requires it.
e) Provide the guide service with people duly registered
in the National Tourism Registry.
WHOLESALE TRAVEL AGENCIES: They are commercial companies, duly
constituted by natural
or legal persons that are professionally dedicated to programming and organizing
tourist plans.
They are characterized by:
a) Programming and organizing national and international tourist plans,
to be executed by Operator Travel Agencies and sold by Travel and Tourism Agencies.
b) Program and organize tourist plans to be operated outside the national territory by
their
correspondents or agents and to be sold by Travel and Tourism Agencies.
c) Promote and sell tourist plans to Colombia, to be executed by the Operator Travel
Agencies established in the country.
d) Reserve and contract accommodation and other tourist services,
to be sold by Travel and Tourism Agencies.
