bread with fillings between them.

• They serve as the transition to regular meals of

BASE
 It is the part upon which the ingredients are placed,
consists of some form of bread or dough produce that is
whole or sliced.

 It holds or contains the spread and fillings of the


sandwich.
SPREAD or MOISTENING AGENT
 It is used to add flavor, moisture and richness to the
sandwich and also to hold or bind the sandwich
together.

 The purpose of spread is to lubricate and bind the


sandwich.
FILLINGS
 Consists of one or more ingredients that are stacked,
layered or folded within or on the structure to form the
sandwich.

 Provide dominant flavor, moisture, as main body and


the nutrients, substance and bulk and complexity in the
combination of flavors.
