Hey Brenda!
Hello Cindy!

Brenda, today my sister showed me

pictures of coats of arms. ¿Do you
know what coats of arms are?

Yes! coats of arms were used to

establish identity in battle, later to
show family ancestry, property and
profession.

2
What coat of arms
did I show you?

The Royal Coat of Arms of

England with English Lion and
Welsh Dragon from the year
1558 – 1603 which has a
subtle contrast in the image.

Oh! The helmet is in golden color

and it’s placed on top of the shield.
Also, it has a royal crown.

3
Did you see the shield? It’s the
object in the center that has 4
straight lines and curved line
edges and has vibrant blue,
yellow and red colors.

That’s great! Also, you can see

two supporters that are to the
left and right of the shield. One
of them is in English Lion and
the other one is in Welsh
Dragon shape.

4
The banner is below the shield
and it’s tiny in size that says
"Semper eadem", which means
"Always the same". Because
Elizabeth I recovered the weapons
and heraldic supports from her
father, Henry VIII in medieval
times.

Wow! That’s incredible! Look

at the Crest! It’s upon the
royal helmet the imperial
crown proper. Thereon a lion
imperially crowned that has a
rough texture.

5
England's royal coat of arms does
not have the mantle, instead, you
can see only the garter circlet
around the shield. It’s in blue color
and it has an order motto in old
French that says: “Honi soit qui
mal y pense” that means “honi be
it who badly thinks about it”.

Fantastic! Everything is very

interesting! Coats of arms
involve history, different
characteristics in shape, lines,
colors…we learned too much
today. Have a nice day! Bye!
