person despite different generations, are
now significant to the person’s daily life.
It simplifies the works and activities of the
user, either for work purposes,
educational usage or for health fitness.
This gadgets has made a large impact to
every individual, from communication,
productivity, to marketing and developing
of future and career.

An increase in digitalization is leading firms and

educational institutions to shift to study and work-
from-home (De’, Pandey, & Pa, 2020) and due to
gadgets and technologies essence in the people’s
daily life particularly in the Covid-19 situation as of
today, its demand and usage is now a major issue.
Tagaytay being part of Cavite having a hundred
thousand of Caviteños, having a hundred of schools,
and huge number of gadgets store can fuel the usage
of gadgets and technologies and as the Department
of Education stated, students and teachers are the
most in demand of digital technologies as ten
thousands of teachers lacks gadget and internet
connection, so as the students (Cariño, 2020).

Castelo (2020) the Department of Trade and
Industry talked with the DepEd with
regards to the demand of gadgets in times
of distance learning along with its conflicts
of accessibility and affordability.

3 purpose of this study is to identify the
impacts of this pandemic to the small scale
gadget store owners in Tagaytay. Given that the
area is affected of the new normal, there is a
noticeable increase to the gadget demands
mainly because of the new mode of learning
where mobile phones and laptops are necessary
to cope up. This study will examine the possible
scenarios in this surge in gadgets and
technology usage and demand during the
pandemic.

For this study, descriptive research
method was used since the research is
focused on the impacts of the new normal
to small scale gadget store owners in
Tagaytay. This method aims to accurately
describe a population, phenomenon, and
situation. It also associate the
relationship between two variables of the
study which is the Pandemic and its effect
to the small scale gadget store owners.

In order to gather necessary data, the
researchers used convenience sampling
technique in selecting the respondents.
This technique is a non-profitability
sampling method where the sample is
taken from a group of people easy to
contact or to reach. This study used 30
small scale gadget store owners in
Tagaytay area.

The researchers used self-made questionnaire
that underwent through content validity and
reliability testing. The result was 0.714
Cronbach’s Alpha score which is interpreted as
acceptable. Before gathering data, the
researchers prepared printed survey
questionnaires and requested for the permission
of the school administrator to conduct a survey.
Then, the researchers distributed and retrieved
the survey questionnaires from the respondents
section mentioned.

frequency distribution to determine and
analyze the demographic profile of the
respondents among the small scale
gadget store owners in Tagaytay. The
mean score will be use to determine the
verbal interpretation of the respondents in
each statement.

the researchers recommend of having the
government provide enough financial
support for the small scale gadget store
owners to stay afloat amidst the pandemic.

Also, the practice of adaptation and
innovation of the small scale gadget store
owners as part of coping up during the
pandemic season will surely help the business
be stable and generate profit. Finally, creating
action plan from the small scale gadget store’s
strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and
threats (SWOT) analysis as a tool can improve
the business’ performance and can constitute
more positive impact of new normal to the small
scale gadget store owner in Tagaytay.
