JESUS AS PROPHET

What does the unit points out?


1. It points out that in today’s time, becoming a
prophet does not necessarily mean foretelling the
future or doing exactly what Jesus did in the past.

2. To be a prophet today entails the courage of


sharing the Word of God and showing a good
example.

Prophetism
-an established divine institution that reminded
the Israelites to be loyal, faithful, and obedient to
the covenant they had with God.

-basic purpose of the institution was to call the


chosen people to constantly align themselves with
the will of Yahweh.

were men called by God to speak His

1. Prophets denounced kings and other rulers

2. Prophets defended the moral laws

saving His people.

1. Jesus was prophesied as the Son of Man.

2. Jesus was prophesied as the Immanuel which means “God


with us”
