Jerking from the E.Rider C8 and C10 vehicles

Symptoms:
At low speeds one notes a drop in engine revs followed by a pick-up.

Diagnosis:
By activating the A/A function using the Carrier unit, with the door closed PTO 2 activates
(visible on the instrument panel) and the engine speed increases to 800 rpm. Pressing the clutch pedal
makes PTO 2 stop. PTO4 activates when the door is opened (it
does not accelerate). PTO 2 reactivates when the door is closed again. Everything is normal.
If the cable between the Carrier unit and PTO 2 is disconnected the problem disappears.
The problem is thus down to PTO 2, configured with a high deactivation speed. This
means that every time the magnetic compressor seal is deactivated or activated, the Carrier unit
sends a signal activating PTO 2 (shown on the instrument panel), which, at speeds of
less than 25 to 30 kmh, leads to sudden power loss followed by a pickup.

Solution:
It isn't easy to modify the VCM software controlling PTO 2. To correct this anomaly,
connect a relay, supplied from the gearbox neutral earth. Thus, by
engaging a gear, the PTO will no longer be activated. When the vehicle is stationary, the PTO
can be activated as and when requested by the Carrier unit.
