MP8-345C vs. EM7-300
with TM308 Transmission

MP8-345C EM7-300
• MP8-345C will offer similar performance to E-Tech with T300
Maxidyne transmissions
MP8-400C vs. E7-400
with T310MLR Transmission

MP8-400C E7-400
• MP8-400C’s wider operating range and higher torque rise will provide
excellent driveability with the T310MLR vocational transmission
MP8-440C vs. E7-427
with T310 Transmission

MP8-440C E7-427
• MP8-440C’s wider operating range and higher torque rise will
provide excellent driveability with the T310 transmission
MP8 Spec’ing

• MP8 “Sweet Spot” or recommeded operating RPM is

different than E-Tech
– MP8 “Sweet Spot” is 1500 +/- 50 RPM
– MP8 operating range is 1200 – 1950 RPM
– MP8 max power available over wider RPM
• MP8 max power typically 1400 - 1800
• E-Tech max power typically 1600 – 1800 for Econodynes
– Rear axle ratios need to be adjusted to match the MP8

Exhaust Governor
• Holset fixed geometry
Exhaust Turbocharger
Governor turbochager
• Exhaust Governor serves 3
functions:
– Aids cold starting
– Warms up engine more
quickly
– Engine braking
• As an exhaust brake or in
conjunction with Powerleash
MP8 Rear Gear Train
• REPTO – Ready
• REPTO adds essentially no
additional weight
• E-Tech REPTO adds 115
lbs to engine weight

• Improved air flow around 1:00 o’clock position

MP8 Electronic Unit Injector
The state-of-the-art E3 unit injector is
a key element of the MP engine
fuel economy and emissions
control
• Fuel supply/return via gallery in head
• Cam driven plunger
• 2400 bar pressure capability for emissions
control and fuel economy (35,000 psi)
• Dual high speed solenoids precisely
control fuel delivery profile, injection timing
and duration
MP8 Liners
•Power Cylinder: Wet sleeve, single piece steel piston
•Plateau-honed sleeves with PVD coated rings

Three Seal ring Liner

MP8 Pistons
• Single Piece “monotherm” 3 ring steel piston
– Reduced Friction for Improved Performance
– Better Cold Starting
MP8 Oil Pan

• Oil Pan
– Front Sump Axle Back
– Ladder Frame
• Structural Integrity
– MP8 Steel Pan
MP8 Oil Pan
