What is the difference Between Gesture
And Posture?
• Gesture refers to a movement of part of the body, especially a hand or
the head, to express an idea or meaning.

• Posture refers to a particular position of the body. It is the way in


which your body is positioned when you are sitting or standing.
• The difference between gesture and posture is that a gesture conveys a
message by using one part of the body. Whereas a posture involves the
movement of the body as a whole.
How does Non-Verbal communication plays
role in support of Verbal communication?
• Nonverbal communication plays one of five different roles
in conjunction with the spoken word. Nonverbal communication can
reiterate the spoken message, contradict the message, or emphasize,
substitute or complement meaning. Sending contradictory messages can
make the speaker seem untrustworthy. Good speakers use these elements
to their advantage in interpersonal conversations as well as in public
speech.
Differentiate between Verbal And Non-
Verbal Communication
• Verbal communication is the use of words to convey a message. Some
forms of verbal communication are written and oral communication.
Examples of Written Communication: Examples of Oral Communication:
-Letters -Face-to-face conversations
-Texting -Speech
-Emailing -Radio

• Nonverbal communication is usually understood as the process of


communication through sending and receiving wordless messages. i.e., language is not
the only source of communication, there are other means also. Non-verbal
Communication can be communicated through gestures and by body language or
posture, by facial expression and eye contact.
