Introduction
• SILK introduced as a steel-based industry situated
in Kerala State, in southern tip of India. The
company’s fully owned by the government of
Kerala. It is a multi-faceted company, that is, a
combination of products and engineering
services for customers.
• Set up by 1975 by the government of Kerala to
develop steel based industries and services in
Kerala. SILK today Rs.500 Million asset based
organization.
Problem
• Today most of them are aware of consumer marketing
and the treatements of their marketing activities
because,we all are used consumer products in our day
to day life.The treatement of marketing activities in
industries are different in nature .Only few people
have knowledge about industrial marketing.Industrial
marketing plays an important role in our
economy,foreign business and infrastructure.
• The study is conducted to know about marketing
activities carried out in steel industries with special
reference to Steel Industrial Limited Kerala.
OBJECTIVES

• To familiarize with the business organization.


• To understand the key business processes are
carried out in an organization.
• To understand the functioning of Project
Engineering and Exports Division and Commercial
Division in SILK.
• To collect the information about different
customers and their competitors.
• To examine the type of goods and services
provided by SILK.
REVIEW OF LITERATURE

• Marketing is a comprehensive term it


comprises of all activities performed by firms
to direct and facilitate flow of goods and
services from producers to buyers .It is a two
way exchange process in which needs and
wants of both buyers and sellers are
satisfied.It is the exchange of value between
buyer and seller.
INDUSTRIAL SELLING

• selling is an important function of marketing


,selling is the link between the marketer and
the consumer in industrial selling, instead of
consumer industrial selling,industrial selling
requires high level of abilities since the clients
are highly rational in their approach. The
clients of SILK are high repute
Pricing of industrial products

• The industrial marketers should understand the various aspects of


pricing,since pricing is the most critical part of industrial marketing
strategy.Different strategies such as market segmentation
strategy,product strategy and promotion strategy are related to
pricing strategy.In order to achieve the Dual objective such as to
meet the company objectives and satisfy the market needs,the
industrial marketer has to integrate the various strategies.When
the members of buying committee of a buying firm,purchase a
particular industrial product,they are buying a given level of
technical service product and delivery reliability.The other element
such as the reputation of supplier, friendship,feeling of security and
other personal benefits flowing from the buyer-seller relationship
are also important
RSEARCH METHEDOLOGY

• Research methodology is considered as the nerve of


the project. Without a proper well-organized research
plan, it is impossible to complete the project and reach
to any conclusion. The main objective was to collect
appropriate data, which work as a base for drawing
conclusion and getting result.
• Therefore, research methodology is the way to
systematically solve the research problem. Research
methodology not only talks of the methods but also
logic behind the methods used in the context of a
research study and it explains why a particular method
has been used in the preference of the other methods.

spss,annova,chisquare,freequency analysis
and correlation are used.
• The sample size is 100 in this research.
