God reveals himself and his plan through revelation in order to invite humanity into fellowship with him. Revelation is an act of God's love to unveil his nature and will. In response, faith is the adequate human response to God's self-revelation, whereby one believes in God and what he has revealed through his authority rather than reason alone. Faith is both a gift from God through grace and a conscious human act of intellect and will.
