Working Principle:
 All cool room refrigeration
systems have five main
components:

1. Compressor
2. Condenser
3. Evaporator Coil
4. Expansion Valve
5. Fans

Construction:
The compressor, which compresses the refrigerant gas
The condenser, in which the hot gas is cooled to a liquid
An expansion valve, which controls flow of the liquefied gas and where liquid gas expands to
vapour
Evaporator coils, where the liquid gas expands and boils. This process absorbs energy, cooling
the coils
Fan or fans, to circulate air over the cold evaporator coils, thereby cooling the cool room. Air
may also be circulated over pipes containing some type of liquid antifreeze, which have
themselves been cooled using the evaporator. Fans also circulate air around the cool room to
ensure even distribution of the cold air and reduce temperature variations within the room.

Advanced Cooling Technology:

Use of Renewable Solar Energy in Cold Storage

Benefits of use of renewable solar energy in cold

storages

 The operating cost of the solar hybrid

refrigeration cycle is low.

The coefficient of performance of the hybrid

system is high

It does not need to be connected continuous to

power grid nor using any consumable fuel as
power source.

Important Factors:
MULTIPLE FACTORS TO CONSIDER IN FACTORS INVOLVED IN EFFECTIVE
THE TECHNOLOGY AND SITE SELECTION COLD STORAGE
OF A COLD STORAGE
Temperature Regulation
Drainage and waste disposal
Relative humidity
Location
Air velocity
Electricity
Increasing product quality
Water
Shelf-life and value
Economic viability

Results:
 So, that Ammonia is 60% used in all cold storages.
For bulk cold storage facilities, NH3 has become
refrigerant of choice since it produces greatest net
refrigerating effect (btu/lb)

Conclusion:
Moreover, the growth of Jai Jinendra  cold storage industry we can see given case study.
The case study of the cold storage firm has highlighted that the business of cold-chain is
dependent on the performance of agriculture sector, stakeholders' market perception, location and
the physical infrastructure.
It was also found that the major impediment in the growth of the cold-chain sector is the huge
capital needed for establishing a cold storage. Apart from financial assistance in building cold
storages, the Government of India needs to create more awareness on the schemes as well as the
technologies of various cold-storage services.
