Scriptural Message

Then God said, “Behold, I have given you every

plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the
/
earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding
seed; it shall be food for you; and to every beast of
the earth and to every bird of the sky and to
everything that moves on the earth which has life, I
have given every green plant for food.”; and it was
so. Genesis 1:29-30
Fr. Al’s Message
On the cross, Jesus cries out, “I thirst.” He
cries this expression of pain even today, “I
thirst.” Jesus thirst not for water but for
souls, for immortal souls. Jesus was filled
with this burning zeal for souls. He came
to save all men. He says, “It is the will of
my Father that not even one of these little
ones should be lost.” It is the will of the
Father that each and every soul should be
saved. (Homily, January 1, 1989)
