define themselves in terms of relationships with others, and see their
characteristics as more likely to change across different contexts.
2. In a collectivistic culture, the focus is on the belief that the group is more
important than an individual.
These educates us that collectivists people can agree on divorce/house bill for the
sake of their group/family. To avoid toxicity and trouble in the family and
relationship.
Families are characterized by respect for parental authority and by strong,
interdependent ties. these aspects of collectivism exert a balancing pressure on the
choice of the partner and the quality of the relationship.
INDIVIDUALISM
1. Individualistic cultures view individuals as independent and able to succeed by
themselves.
