WH Compressors

WH6 WH7

1993 2002

WH compressor frames were created to replace

the weaker legacy SW frames. The WH has a lower
Crankshaft center line which makes it more stable.

Auxiliary Distance Piece

View from Crosshead Guide Side View from Cylinder Side

The Auxiliary Distance Piece is used to protect the frame internal

components from the effects of corrosive gases such as H 2S. It can also be
used as a spacer for larger cylinders.
19
Sour Gas Applications

Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) is a colorless gas that is very poisonous, and corrosive. Very
short exposure can be lethal, even at small concentrations. H2S is highly flammable,
and can be explosive. Dissolved in water, H2S is known as Hydro Sulfuric Acid or
Sulfhydric Acid, a weak acid. It is commonly found in Natural Gas and Biogas.
