INTRODUCTION
Pervious concrete is a special
type of concrete with a high
porosity used for concrete flat
work applications
Coarse aggregates(19mm-9.5mm)
Water(free from salts & impurities)
Supplementary cementinious
materials(SCM)such as fly ash , pozzolona &
blast furnace slag are also used
MIX-PROPORTION
material
The national ready-mix concrete Kg/m3
cement 356
Coarse aggregates 1543
water 95
admixtures percentage
Fly ash(or) 25%
slag 50%
APPLICATIONS
Flat works
Court yards
Drainage areas
Parking areas
ADVANTAGES
Recharge the ground
water level
Reduce the risk of
flooding &
hydroplaning
Requires less costly
repairs than black top
Longer service life &
lower life cycle cost
than asphalt
DIS-ADVANTAGES
Difficult in providing the reinforcement
Frequent maintenance is required
