Serial Killer
-Definition: A person who commits a
series of murders, often with no aparent
motive and typically following a
characteristic, predictable behavior
pattern.

-Examples include: John Wayne Gacy,


Jeffrey Dahmer, Ted Bundy, Chris Watts,
etc.

-Serial murders can result through the act


of stalking, sexually motivated, terroism,
mass murders, and many more other
traits.
Public Fascination
- Considered to be “adult horror stories”
- We like to experience fear through
adrenaline, but not to a point where
we’re in a dangerous situation. (ex:
haunted houses)
- Serial Killers are seemingly unnatural
which attracts the attention of many.
- We cannot comprehend their actions,
so we feel compelled to understand
why.

- Lack of empathy and remorse
- Manipulative
- Power hungry
- Sexual/sensual seeking
- Psychopathic tendencies
- Masking themselves in a public setting
- Intentionally harming animals
- Antisocial

- Fingerprints
- Comparisons to other bodies
- Identification on particular items
- DNA analysis
- Biological evidence (blood, semen,
etc)
- Digital evidence
FBI Strategies
- Creating a criminal profile
- Analyzing pattern of behavior, typical
lifestyle, how the crime is done and
what they do to their victims.
- Distinguishing if serial killer’s behavior
falls under organized (premeditated) vs.
unorganized (not planned).
- Can access resources, documents,
personal property when needed.
- Interviewing potential witnesses
Facts
- Jeffrey Dahmer (human cannibal) gave
people from his apartment his victim’s
flesh in sandwich form.
- Netflix made a movie of Ted Bundy
starring Zac Efron called, “Extremely
Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile”
- H.H. Holmes sometimes sold the skeletons
of his victims to medical schools.
- Ted Bundy ironically used to work at a
suicide hotline and he also never admitted
the true number of women he murdered.
- Richard Ramirez (also known as The Night
Stalker) would choose his victims randomly
by breaking into their homes.

- Ted Bundy: Notoriously well-known to kill over 30 women over a span of years.
He was a law student and loved by the community, but would terrorize and and
perform vile acts to females.
- John Wayne Gacy: also known at The Killer Clown murdered at least 30 men and
teen boys whom he killed & sexually assaulted. He was also an entertainer as a
clown for community events. Most of his victims were buried under his crawl
space at his home.
- Jeffrey Dahmer: one of the most brutal & disturbing serial killers. Jeffrey was a
cannibal and had dark fantasies for young men. He abused alcohol and would
lure victims in by drugging them then raping, killing, and eventually eating them.
