Two actions happening at the same time in the past.

Action going on at a certain time in the past.
Ex: wHen I was having breakfast, the phone suddenly rang.
The action or situation had already started before this time but had not finished.
Ex: When the phone rang, she was writing a letter.

Atmosphere in the Future
EX: In english, we often use a series of parallel actions to describe
atmosphere at a specific point in the future.
