Step-by-step process
Step 1. Download WordPress from website

 Visit their site

 www.wordpress.org
Step 2: Extract the zip file installer
Step 3: Paste the extracted folder to xampp
directory (c:\xampp\htdocs
Step 5: Launch xampp control panel

 From the start menu click xampp control panel icon

 Step 6: Open php.ini config file
 From xampp control panel, click config button next to apache start button
Step 7: Change upload file size of php
Set upload_max_filesize=500M, close notepad then save
 Step 8: Start the Apache and Mysql Service

Click the start button of Apache and Mysql to start the two services
 Step 9: Start the Apache and Mysql Service

Click the start button of Apache and Mysql to start the two services
 Step 10: Create a mysql database for wordpress

a. Open a browser, then go to the url: http://localhost/phpmyadmin

b. From the left pane click the new link
c. On the create database field,
enter “wordpress” as name of the database
then click create button
 Step 12: Enter the database connection details

a. Enter the values as shown on the figure

then click on submit button
 Step 13: Open the wordpress site installer

a. Open a browser, then go to the url:

http://localhost/wordpress
b. Click on “lets go!” button
 Step 14: Run the wordpress installer

a. Click on “Run the installation” button

 Step 15: Provide the needed information then
install “wordpress”
a. Fill in the required information then
proceed to install wordpress
Note: if you want to use you own password
other than the auto –generate password,
click on “Confirm use of weak password”
checkbox to allow the usage of weak
password.
 Step 17: After installation, you may now log in
your account.
a. Click on the login button
 Step 16: Fill in the necessary information
needed for your website
a. Enter the information as shown on the
figure. You may enter your own Site title.
b. You may do the same for user name and
password then click on “install
wordpress” button located at the bottom
most part of the page.
Step 17: Enter your user name and password to
continue
Adding media or images

 Click on media on the left pane then you drag or click select files on the button to
locate for images to be uploaded to your website

 Click on media on “select files” button, look for the folder where your pictures are
located then you can select multiple files at once then click the open button to
proceed

 Click on pages from the left navigation pane

 Click on Add new button
 Type Page Header and the Body of the page
 Then click on the “publish” button
