Introduction OEL

• Phosphor is any kind of material which can emit light by absorbing various energies with
out heat generation.
• Various process occurring in phosphor materials which is shown below.
• Combining near-ultraviolet (near-UV) LED chips with tri-colour (red, green, and blue)
phosphors are developed. Green and blue colour LED chips are commercially available
• For synthesis of red phosphor we choose one host lattice Li3BaSrLn3(MoO4)8 where (Ln =
La,Gd, Y) with samarium (Sm3+) doped .

Summary and Conclusions OEL

 XRD indicates that purity of crystal structure

 SEM shows phosphor contains irregular morphology and the particles
are aggregated
 IR strong stretching vibration at 406 and 433 cm-1 of O-Mo-O of MoO4.
 Excitation spectra contains broad band in the region of 220-350 nm and
sharp intense peaks in the range of 360-500 nm.
 Emission spectra exhibited the sharp orange red emission at 646 nm, also
it consist of several sharp peaks at 563, 599, 645 and 705 nm.
 Increasing the concentration of the Sm3+ the lifetime values were
decreases gradually.
 All the synthesized phosphor exhibits the orange red emission with
excellent CIE chromaticity coordinates.
