BRAIN AS OUR NEURAL

NETWORK
ACTIVITY no.____
– Create a social map that traces the
various roles you play in your community
(family member, community leader etc.)
and rank the significance of the roles you
play within your community.
NEURAL NETWORKS

– Who are we?

– Where do we come from?
– Why we are here?
– How are we going?
– Why and we are connected?
NEURAL NETWORKS

–How does our

brain works?
The human brain as Neural Network

– Our brain serves as a neural network.

– It is an interconnection web of neurons
transmitting elaborate patterns of electrical signals.
– The dendrites receive input signals and based on
those inputs, fire an output signal via an axon.
– It is how our brain actually works is an elaborate
and a complex mystery.
The human brain as Neural Network
The human brain as Neural Network

– Individual neurons cannot carry enough

information to determine the taste of bite of food
and color of an object.
– Neural Networks are where the most complex
neutral processing- the “computing” work of the
brain- is carried out.
The human brain as Neural Network

– The part of the brain that tells us the direction to

travel when we navigate. (discovered by the
London scientists)
– Reliability of “homing signals” in the human
brain
– “Entorhinal Region”- It is the part of the brain that
signals us which direction you are facing.
The human brain as Neural Network

– In other words, the researches found our

“sense of direction” comes from the
human brain and worked out a way to
measure it is using magnetic resonance
imaging (MRI)
