OBJECTIVE
To design and implement the smart walking stick for blind people
To detect and warn the blind people that there is an abstacle on their way
INTRODUCTION
The system facilitates blind people to navigate independently with out any external help by
means of talkative assistance.
The system is linked with a GSM-GPS module to pin-point the location of the blind person.
The system is equipped with obstacle sensors such as ULTRASONIC to alert the blind person
.

ARDUINO AND APR
Global positioning system(GPS)and Global system for mobile communications(GSM) are interfaced to
the microcontroller to detect the blind person location .
When GSM modem receives a message the microcontroller will process the message with the
keyword saved in it. Then, it will get the location of the stick from the GPS modem and
transmit the location to the GSM modem in order to respond to the sender.
ADVANTAGES
Simple to use .
Less accidents will be occurred for the blind people.
DISADVANTAGES
The stick gives signal to the person by speaker or vibration when it detects the obstacle.
Without the help of any other person the blind people can walk easily.
The electronic walking stick for blind people helps them when the obstacle occurs infront of the
person.
FUTURE SCOPE
GPS can help blind peoples to source and destination route information.
GPS can help to find the shortest and best path as accordingly to google map based on real
time coordinates.
GSM attachment can help in future for any immediate causality help
