Need:
Solid waste problem existing LGUs even with the passage of RA9003
Responsibility SWM is in the LGU (RA 9003, RA 7160)
LGU thru SWMB
Reasons: LGUs lack financial, technical capability, infrastructure, MRF, sanitary
landfill
~25% of the waste recyclable + organic be diverted
>50% of the waste, organic, compostable
Composting: space, obnoxious odor generation, rate of decomposition is slow

GENERAL OBJECTIVE

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
Specifically, the study aims to determine the effects of the :
1. Addition of synbiotic solutions such as Indigenous (IMO), …..to
the decomposition rate, pH, temperature, moisture, NPK, TOC,
and C/N ratio;
2. Frequency of the addition of the symbiotic solutions added
once and twice a week; and
3. interactions of the addition of the different synbiotic solutions
and the frequency of their addition to the composting pile.
