The Title Of The Magazine

The masthead doesn’t look neither grime or

rock, just connotes the consumers that its in-
between which is R’n’B. For instance, I used
a fancy title which really isn’t related to rock
nor grime, this would ensure the consumers
what they’re looking for.
Mise-En-Scene Of Images
The mise-en-scene of the images I
used in this magazine, which in this
case is only the main image portrays
the R’n’B class. For example, the
clothing I have used represents
symbolism of the R’n’B culture – it
doesn’t contain any hoodies or mask
for grime and rock magazines.

According to my moodboard, Chris

Brown is wearing a similar clothing –
a jumper presenting the R’n’B
culture.
Costumes And Props
The varieties of clothing to choose
from is very important, hence we
have to be very crucial. For
example, if I had chosen a hoodie
in this magazine, the magazine
would portray the steps of a grime
magazine. Whereas the clothing I
chosen, a formal cardigan is
appropriate for a R’n’B magazine.

Also, I have built a prop via Adobe Photoshop to

reinforce the aim for this magazine. In order to attract
consumers, I must use any little bit of help to attract as

grime genre. I would normally
expect to see a prop saying
‘FREE HOODIE’ or something
similar due to their genre. In
contrast, I did something really
different.
People
I have made my model pose in such a
way to attract vast amount of varieties
within age groups. For example, I
haven’t positioned him in such a way
where the looks of him portrays anger
which would normally be a grime
magazines aim to attract young, grime
listeners. The thumps up presents to
anyone who has a dream, inspiring
them to ‘keep on going’ to achieve
whatever they want. Finally, the pose
can connate that everyone starts from
the bottom and go to the top, applying
the thumps up idea.
Title font and style
My masthead is big and placed at
the mid section of the top. I have
used a fancy font to make it look
different from all other magazines.
For example, you would normally
expect this find of font in Rock
music but I have used it here to just
make it stand out. Also, the style is
very fancy too, my magazine’s title
is ‘STAR’ in cap locks and also within
the title, I have placed at least two
number of stars to keep reinforcing
the audience, or consumers what
their reading, or looking for.

In this way, my magazine would

become very popular due to
everyone knowing its name and
therefore would catch a lot of
attention, whatever the situation is.
Written content

Not previously mentioned, the writing is kept as

minimum as possible to draw the audience
towards the masthead and the main image. This is
because the audience will get use to the name and
the models used in this magazine and as I
progress, there would be more content within the
front cover.

I would first like to allow the audience to know

what genre this magazine is, therefore, I have
used as low as possible writing. Finally, the fonts
and style of the written content is very casual and
original, this is only because this would draw
more attention towards the masthead and main
image directly portraying what this magazine is
actually about.
Music genre and how your magazine suggests
it
The masthead of the magazine publishes the genre beforehand, this is
because the name is star which really wouldn’t fit in to a lot of other music
magazine genres. On the other hand, rock magazines will be called
something like ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll’ and grime would be called something like
‘Investigation’, comparison to these, my magazine stands out.

The main image also represents the R’n’B culture because it does not
consist of any hoodies or fancy clothes related to the genre grime a rock.
However, it portrays R’n’B because I have used a cardigan which is very
formal and also the pose of the model is very unique with the thumps up.
Layout
The layout is very original looking as seen in other
magazines...

The cover lines are on the side of the front

cover as other magazines.

The puff is standing out.

The masthead is at the top.

The main image is in the centre.

Barcode is at the bottom – side of the

cover.
Contents Page

My contents page is very similar in terms of

colour to my front cover. This therefore means,
the consumers know by looking into my
magazine that they have chosen the right
magazine for R’n’B. Also, my magazine
features a famous DJ called ‘DJ Wacky’ and I
have used his picture in my contents page to
attract readers and this would make them read
even more. I have also conducted some
important topics in my contents page to make
sure the consumers just don't pick this
magazine up and put it down within seconds,
the hot, new topics will make the consumers
open my product and read more and more.
