INTRODUCTION
Sindh is the one of the four provinces of Pakistan and historical home to Sindhis.
Its also known as MEHRAN & entitled as “Bab ul Islam”(the gateway of the Islam) and
also known as “Indus valley” or “land of Sufi saints”.
Sindh is bounded to the west by Indus river and Baluchistan, to the north by Punjab
and east by the state of India Rajasthan and south by the Arabian sea.
The capital of Sindh province is KARACHI, the largest city of Pakistan and financial hub.

Most of the population is Muslim with some sizeable population of Hindu community
as Sindh is the only province that believes in secularism.
The main language spoken here is Sindhi by about more than 35 million people, While
there exists significant number of Urdu speaking with 8 million above population
Sindh is very rich and generally considered to be the oldest among world traditions.
It is established that Sindhi was the first and the earliest language of east in which Quran was
translated in the eight or ninth century AD.
Sindhi writers, poets and Saints are well known such as Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, Sachal Sarmast
they have contributed extensively in various forms of literature both in poetry and prose.

Sindh has its own unique foods which are totally different from the other provinces.
The cuisine of Sindh is that much extra ordinary that there is no competition on variety of food.
Certain dishes are served on special occasions include Saag Mani,White Rice & mangoes,Sindhi Biryani,
Lotus Root and much more.
Drinks
Sindhi music and artist have their own unique quality, it is performed by
many ways.
Sufi music is performed at shrines and other simple music is performed at
concerts and studios.
Most famous Sindhi music is Shah jo Raag overall in Sindh in which 30 basic
Sur are derived from Shah Jo Risalo. Some of the famous Sindhi musicians
include living legend Abida Parveen, Shazia Khushk, Allan Fakir.

SINDHI DANCE
Hojamalo: This dance is done on the
verses of song Ho Jamalo wearing
Sindhi ajrak and topi. its the most
common Sindhi dance.

Dhamal:
It is performed on the shrines in Sindh,
but it is also done in other provinces as
well.
Sindhi Jhumar:
It is slower and rhythmic dance
Festivals
• There are so many culture festivals in Sindh but the most popular is "Ekta
Day"(Unity Day) or also called commonly as topi ajrak day which is
celebrated worldwide by Sindhi people on first weekend of December.
• On this festival all Sindhis wear the Sindhi topi and ajrak and shows unity
with each other.
MOHEN JO DARO
It is an archaeological site in the province of Sindh,
Pakistan. Built around 2500 BCE, it was one of the
largest settlements of the ancient Indus Valley
Civilisation, and one of the world's earliest major cities,
contemporaneous with the civilizations of ancient Egypt
KOTDIGI FORT
CONTINUED The ancient site at Kot Diji was the forerunner of the
Indus Civilization. The occupation of this site is attested
already at 3300 BCE. The remains consist of two parts;
the citadel area on high ground, and outer area. The
Pakistan Department of Archaeology excavated at Kot
Diji in 1955 and 1957
