What is a Preposition?

A preposition is a word used before a noun or a


pronoun to indicate place, direction or time.

E.g. The boy is lying on the floor.

What is preposition of time?

A preposition of time is a word that


allows you to discuss a specific time
period.
Such as ... A date on the calendar, one
of the days of the week, or the actual
time something takes place.
There are prepositions of time.
These are some of the examples below.
• Tim is going to tell us about some of the events
he has done with his family during a period of
time.

• Make sure you use the right preposition of time to


say when the event took place.
Let’s look at some examples.
Amy’s house is near the school and school
starts at nine o’clock.
