2. Causes of disability maybe functional limitation or psychological
limitation
3. Medical specialist plays a certain role in this model because it is their job
to offer them rehabilitative diagnosis
4. For this reason this is also known as ‘Medical model’
 SOCIAL MODEL OF DISABILITY
Fundamental points about this model are-
1. This model recognise the social origin of this model in society
2. The model says that people are disabled by barriers in society not by
their impairment or difference
3. Barriers can be by physical or by people’s attitude
4. Like assuming that disabled people cant do certain things

and have patience when they deal with people with special needs.  Work
for disabled should be made available, this will give them financial
independence and provide them with satisfaction in life. We should make
our surroundings more accessible to disabled people. The homes for the
disabled should be designed in such a way that it is more comforting to
them. Also, no matter how small the contribution is, one can always help
the needy in their own little ways.
