“By the mercy of guru one
can achieve the mercy
of the Supreme
Personality of Godhead.”

Why the spiritual master’s
position is so great?
Because he is very, very
confidential servant
of Kåñëa; therefore his
position is so great.

huge quantities more and more.
This is very much satisfying to me.”

Reason 2
Prahläda Mahäräja said
“I am quite happy.
I have no problem.
Tato vimüòha-
But I am thinking
cetasa indriyärtha:
of these rascals.
“They have made the whole aim
of life sense gratification.”
This civilization as
it is going on
is very risky.
So as Kåñëa
conscious men,
we should try
to save them.
That is the duty.
Every word is for the good of the human
society. Every word, each and every word.
Therefore we stress so much in the book
distribution. Somehow or other, if the book
goes in one hand, he will be benefited. At
least he will see, “Oh, they have taken so
much price. Let me see what is there.”
If he reads one çloka, his life will be
successful. If one çloka, one word.
This is such nice things.
Therefore we are stressing so much,
“Please distribute book, distribute book,
distribute book.” A greater mådaìga. We
are chanting, playing our mådaìga. It is
heard within this room or little more. But
this mådaìga will go home to home,
country to country, community to
community, this mådaìga.
REF. TLK Vs 21
Kñamä, tolerance and
forgiveness,
should be practiced;
one should be
tolerant and excuse the
minor offenses of others.
REF. TLK Vs 21
When one is engaged in devotional service,
he is often surrounded by envious people,
and often many enemies come to try
to defeat him or stop him.
This is not new in this present age,
for even in the days of Prahläda Mahäräja,
who was engaged in the devotional
service of the Lord, was harassed
by his demoniac father, Hiraëyakaçipu.
The atheists are always
prepared to harass a devotee;
therefore Caitanya Mahäprabhu
suggested that one be very
tolerant of these people.
REF. SB 4.24.67
Facing criticism:
Because the blasphemy was cast against
Çré Caitanya Mahäprabhu Himself,
He did not feel sorry, and therefore
He was smiling. This is ideal
Vaiñëava behavior.
One should not become angry
upon hearing criticism of himself.
REF. CC Adi 7.52 purport
Public may or
may not take:
Spiritual master has ordered
to distribute books; you shall do that.
That is obedience.
Now the public may take or not take,
that is public’s option.
But my duty is—because spiritual
master has said—I must try my best.
REF. Room Conversation –
May 3, 1976, Honolulu
Don’t be
disappointed:
Don’t be disappointed that the whole
day you work, and nobody
was interested in
Kåñëa consciousness.
No.
Don’t be
disappointed.
You have worked sincerely
the whole day, that is
your credit. That’s all.
That’s your credit.
Kåñëa will see,
bhäva-grähé-janärdana.
Kåñëa wants to
see that how much
you are spending
your valuable life
and energy for Kåñëa.
That’s all.
REF. Bhagavad-gétä 2.26 –
Los Angeles, December 6, 1968
Participate
enthusiastically:
Your enthusiasm is
very encouraging to me;
there is great need for the spreading of
Krishna Consciousness, and we need
so many enthusiastic boys and girls
for carrying on this great mission of
Caitanya Mahaprabhu.
Now in my old age,
I am leaving this great
responsibility in the
hands of all of you
my students.
REF. Letter to: Karunamayi
-- Los Angeles 25 February, 1968
Nothing to
be sorry:
Suppose we approach sometimes a rich
man to favor us with some
contribution, membership fees.
But that rich man cannot favor
us unless it is sanctioned by Kåñëa.
Kåñëa is there within
himself, and if He says that
“You give him this money,”
the man will give us.
So we shall not be sorry. Suppose we go
somewhere and he did not favor us.
We should not be sorry.
We should know that Kåñëa did
not dictate him. He is not so
fortunate now; therefore
Kåñëa did not dictate him.
So there is nothing to be sorry.
This should be our principle.

Believe
– You can do it !
“Okay –
I will give it a try,
but I don’t think I can do it.”
Such attitudes
produce failure.
Disbelief is
a negative power.
When the mind
disbelieves or doubts,
mind attracts reasons
to support the disbelief.
Think doubt – you fail!
Think victory – you succeed!
When you believe I-can-do-it,
“Please try to distribute my books in huge quantities more and more. This is very
much saatisfying to me.” REF. Letter to: Sons -- Bombay 28 December, 1974
