Introduction of Proposed Project

• In the present era of 21st century the major problem in developing countries are the
substantial problems arising due to organic waste.
• Being agriculture dependent country India produces a large amount of organic
residues which then leads to the several problems of its disposal.
• These organic residues prevail upon the problems such as incineration, landfills,
soil erosion,bad odour, air pollution and increase in carbon dioxide level in the
atmosphere.
• Thus we need to ensure an efficient alternative to these problems. We plan to
convert this organic waste into useful resource such as compost which adds on a
considerable value to our farming.

Calculation
• Calculation for dia (d) of shaft:-

• Body Material :- Stainless Steel d =

• Shaft Material :- MS Where ; (ii)
• CALCULATION OF SHAFT :- Kb = 1.75
Mb = 57049.4 N-mm
Kt = 1.5
= maximum shear stress Mt = 764.33 N-mm
= yield stress = 450 Putting the above values in equation (ii) we get
= factor of safety = 3
d = 19.75mm
Putting the value we get d = 20 mm (aproxx)
= 75
(i)

Calculation
• Torque calculation of motor (T)
• Torque of shaft () :-
Where ;
= ◦ P = Power = 40 W
Putting the value of ◦ W = work done =

We get ;

=
= 1,16,180 N-mm N-mm
= 116.18 N-m
= 129.56 N-m
