Tips for Analyzing a Case Study

• Read entire case to get a general idea what the case is about. Remember to
review the tables and exhibits to gather additional information.
• Consider which strategic analysis tools are most appropriate for the case study.
• When asked to make a recommendation, conclusion or make a decision,
remember to consider possible alternatives.
• When deciding between alternatives, list the possible alternatives and use a
pros and cons list or a decision matrix to make a recommendation.
• Clearly state your recommendations.
• Ensure sufficient details and examples from the case are included to support
your answers.
• Ask yourself whether you have really supported your conclusions and
recommendations with hard evidence (events and results) from the case study?
