arts category.

in the Philippines are:

The Story of
"Courier Express"
Balanghai refers to the large boats used by early Filipino
settlers. It is also the origin of the word barangay—the smallest
political unit in the Philippines; a small village, district or
neighborhood.

The paintings in the exhibition portray communities traveling,


moving forward, seeking greener pastures and finding second
chances in life, always steering the helm toward their desired
destination.

Define as a two-dimentional form of art that showcases
artistic expression created on a flat surface.
Images are prepared by applying pigment on a prepared
surface using typically one or a combination of the following
tools.

The Story of
"Starry Night"
Vincent Van Gogh painted "Starry Night" in 1889 from a room in the
mental asylum at Saint-Remy where was recovering from mental
illness and his ear amputation.
Analysts of "Starry Night" emphasize the symbolism of the stylized
cypress tree in the foreground, linking it to death and Van Gogh's
eventual suicide
Where is Vincent van Gogh Starry Night painting? the Vincent van
Gogh night stars painting has been in the permanent collection of the
Museum of Modern Art in New York City since 1941.

• There are a number of media used for painting and
other two dimentional work .these include
 Oil ,acrylic , watercolor , pastel,ink,etc.
These media are applied on a surface such as:
 Canvas ,Paper,Wood ,Card board
The beginnings of Painting and
Illustration
As we all know it were the result of the "Spanish
Colonization".Early paintings and other fine arts were
primarily religious in nature . They were us to
evangelized and spread Christianity throughout the
archipelago. As time pass painting and illustration
started to take on more secular subjects and themes .
Contemporary forms of painting
and illustration in the Philippines
generally stem from our interaction
with the Americans. The earliest
incarnation of the comtemporary
painting and illustrations were the
images and drawings for the various
publications and textbook of the
American era.
