The researchers believe that it is timely to
incorporate award winning literary authors to
explicate our culture to promote socio-cultural
awareness and intercultural studies among the
ethnic groups in our society.

Conclusion
Based on the findings, the following conclusions are made by the
researchers to give light on the research queries;

1. There are Filipino Values that are found in the selected literary
piece of the Award Winning Filipino writers that are needed to
be revisited for the upbringing of the research agenda to
decolonize the teaching of reading. 

2. There are four reading strategies used by the researcher in the

Recommendation
The researchers highly recommends the following useful ideas based on the
findings and conclusions from the integration and decolonization of teaching reading in
the Philippines and these are; 

1. To promote Filipino Cultural Values among the learners of Philippine


Literature through contextual analysis of the selected literary pieces of the Award-
winning Filipino literary writers.

2.  To give ample recognition to the Award Winning Filipino literary writers in
the realms of teaching of reading in the Philippines.
