“children put stones in their pockets and
make piles of stones in the town square”

Type - Foreshadowing
Meaning -
It seems like a harmless thing to do until we get to the
end of the story where we’ll know the true purpose of
the stones, Tess Hutchison, is stoned to death by
friends and family.

Moral of the story -

The moral lesson of this story is that one should not
blindly follow traditions simply because they're
tradition.
THE GIFT OF THE MAGI
BY O. HENRY
 Title of the story -
The gift of the magi

- Line or statement
The magi, or the three wise men, are another biblical
allusion.

Type -
Allusion
Meaning -
According to Christian beliefs, the magi
visited Jesus after his birth, bringing these
gifts fit for a king

Moral of the story -

Christmas is not about receiving or giving gifts,
Christmas is about the birth of Jesus and about
family.
THE HAPPY PRINCE

Title of the story -
The happy prince

- Line or statement
God said, “for in my garden of paradise this little bird
shall sing evermore, and in my city of gold the happy
prince shall praise me.”

Allegory
Meaning -
God let's the bird and the happy prince enter his
kingdoms because both of them has a good
heart that is willing to help others.

Moral of the story -

God doesn't base on riches and what
human accomplished in life. God based us
on how we treat and what we do to others.
