1. IDEA OF ZERO
Little needs to be written about the mathematical digit ‘zero’, one of the most
important inventions of all time
Mathematician Aryabhata was the first person to create a symbol for zero and it
was through his efforts that mathematical operations like addition and subtraction
started using the digital ,Zero.

EDUCATION IN ANCIENT INDIA
Education was given utmost importance even in the ancient period. We do not
have any evidence of education during the Indus valley civilization but however on
seeing the layout plan, drainage system it is understood that people were very
intelligent.
During the Vedic civilization education was done through orally. All the Vedas
were first transmitted orally from one person to another person. It was only in
1300-1500 BC Rig Veda was written. In Vedic period medium of instruction was
Sanskrit, while Pali became the medium of instruction in Buddhist education.
SCIENCE IN ANCIENT INDIA
1. A THEORY OF ATOM One of the notable scientists of the ancient
India was Kanad who is said to have devised the atomic theory centuries before
John Dalton was born. He speculated the existence of anu or a small

The Vedas regarded as the oldest among the literatures of the world, are the
original sources of the philosophy of life in ancient India. A study of these Vedas
will enable one to get a thorough knowledge not only of the philosophy of life but

The Rig Veda is established as the earliest work not merely of the Hindus, but of all
Indo-European languages and humanity. It lays the foundation upon which Hindu
Civilization has been building up through the ages. Broadly speaking, it is on a
foundation of plain living and high thinking.
THE CONCLUSION
Contemporary civilizations of the Indus valley were not as scientific as the Indus.
With this, in ancient India, almost India was technically and economically self-sufficient and was
the leader of the entire world as a Vishwaguru
