INTRODUCTION

Condyloma acuminata (CA)

Caused by The most
Human Infect common
Papilloma Virus mucocutaneous causative virus:
(HPV) type 6 and 11

3
OBJECTIVES

To investigate the correlation between CD4 level

and CA

4
METHODS

Study design : Retrospective study, cross sectional

Subjects : HIV patients with and without condyloma accuminata
(medical record data inpatient and outpatient DV)
Place : Dr. Moewardi General Hospital Surakarta
Time : 1st March 2016 – 1st March 2021
Statistical Analysis : Chi Square, SPSS IBM version 22 (p<0.05=
significant)
Ethics : Approved by Health Research Ethical Committee of Dr.
Moewardi General Hospital

5
METHODS

Inclusion criteria

• HIV patients (with or without CA)

• Complete medical record (CD4 level)

Exclusion criteria

DISCUSSIONS

14
DISCUSSIONS

• HPV  condyloma acuminata: manifest as

verrucous papules especially on genital area

• Risk factors: multiple partner, MSM, unprotected

sex, immunocompromise and immunologic factor

• Imunocompromise  increase accuisition,

progression and persintace of HPV infection

15
DISCUSSIONS

• CD4 < 200 cell/ul : 49.4%

This study • CD4 ≥ 200 cell/ul: 50.6%
• p=0.036

• Relationship between CD4 level and

Li Yu et al CA (CD4< 200 cell/ul)

• CA in HIV patients : mean CD4 level

Nnoruka et al of 67.2±0.38

16
DISCUSSIONS

Infection HIV relates with oncogenic HPV infection

Denny et al, 2015: HIV patients have high prevalence of

HPV infection, persistent HPV infection and cervix
cancer

17
DISCUSSIONS

Limitations

Single center study Small sample size

Incomplete medical
record data

18
CONCLUSION

• CD4 level significantly correlates with CA

• Its correlation coefficient is low
