Ward off with left hand (Zuo Peng)
1. Transfer your weight to the left foot.
2. Raise your right hand with your palm facing the ground and your left hand follows
the body movement swinging to your right hip joint below. Both your palm centers
are facing each other. As your body turning to the right, your right foot should be
following with your right heel pivoting to the right together with left foot turning
above the ground.
3. Land your left foot with your foot gently touching the ground. Other part of the
body remains stationary.
4. Raise your left heel slightly above the ground. Other part of the body remains
stationary.
Ward off with left hand (Zuo Peng)
5. Bring your left foot straight to the front and land your left heel
comfortably on the ground with your left foot slightly raised above the
ground facing to the front.
6. As you transfer your weight to the left foot, you raise your left arm
from your right hip joint diagonally to the front with your right arm
moving downward to the right at the side of your body.
7. Turn your body to the front with your right hand and fingers slightly
tilted to the front. And your left arm above the chest at this point is still
remaining almost stationary with left palm center facing the heart position.
Ward off with right hand (You Peng)
1. Turn your body diagonally to your right with your left hand slightly
rotated downward facing the ground. Meanwhile your right hand below
should be rotated inwardly with its palm center facing the left palm
center above. At the same time, you have to bring your left foot inward
with the right heel slightly above the ground so that you are almost
facing to the right. And your weight is still remaining on your left foot.
2. Everything remains the same, just bring forward your right heel of
the foot and lands it slightly to the left to make sure that both the feet are
kept in shoulder width.
◦ 3. Swinging your right arm up to the front as you transfer your
weight to the right foot and landed totally on ground. And moreover
your left arm will follow the movement to complete the posture.
◦ 4. Bring your left foot to about 45 degree facing to the right and
your right hand should be turned slightly inward with your middle
finger of your left hand pointing at the center of the right palm
center.
