Best Practices
1
“FREE FOOD,
LIFE’S GOOD”
Dampalan Elementary School has long been
practicing a feeding program to all learners
using the SBFP Fund and other sources.

Children in this school usually come from
low-income families. Many of them have only
corns on their tables. Many of them are
severely malnourished. As a result, they have
very low school performance.

1
This initiative is also
supported by Barangay
Officials and parents who

are beneficiary of the 4Ps
and IPs and also by the
learners who kept a well
maintained vegetable
garden inside the school
premises.

2
The garden acts as a
support in which the
vegetable harvested

from the garden were
used in the feeding
program .

3
The school also
maintains mini

Fishpond in which
Tilapias are being
cultured. The
harvested Tilapias are
also used in the
Feeding Program.

Feeding Program
○ The learners help in cultivating the garden.
○ The teachers of Dampalan Elementary School
cook and give to all learners delicious and
nutritious food every lunch break.

4
○ Since this program has been
implemented, absenteeism and
dropping out of school has been
decreased. Children were more
motivated and encouraged to go school.
